03-21/04-11 (PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #3 and #4)Students will begin working on the Typing Lessons on line daily - learning keyboarding skills. Students should complete each lesson with 50 wpm with 0 errors. Once they have accomplished this they may go onto the next lesson. After completing the first 4 lessons students will need to take the Typing Test #1, when they complete the test at 50 wpm with 0 errors they can go onto Lesson 5; etc.

04-12/04-15(PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #2 and #6) Begin learning about Censorship and Copyright laws pertaining to publications and public schools by reading and answering the questions in the Jostens Taking Issue - A Student Guide to Publication Law (Red books next to your computers). Answer the questions at the end of each chapter and save them as your (student’s) name on the Yearbook Server. A good site to investigate the CopyRight Law is the Student Press Law Center. Another resource for information is Copyright Kids. Copyright Basics is another good information site.

Students will learn to select sections from the pictures; to lighten images; add text to the picture; and anything else they can imagine doing. LEARNING PHOTOSHOP: First students will read, study and practice each of the 8 Lessons (this means complete each of the exercises, homework, assignments, and reviews) at the
Adobe Photoshop Basics website.
Then students will complete each of the following and e-mail them to Ms. Cassidy for a grade.

05-04/05-06 - (PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #1, #3, #5 and #6)Students will begin learning to build web pages. Students will learn to place images on pages - add text - resize text - change the color of the page and text - add links to the page - and more. Read/study each of the links given in order to begin building a webpage about a Science project of your choice. How to Build Websites, Lissa Explains and HTML Coding. Use pictures you have created in PhotoShop.

05-09/05-13 - (PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #1, #3 and #5)Students’ will learn the Audacity sound editing software program. Students may need to download the Software onto their computer. Go to My computer - Msapps on fpsserver1 - Cassidy - double-click audacity-win-1.2.6 - then follow instructions to load program - Next to use the Headphones students will need to download the driver software and it is My computer - Msapps on fpsserver1 - Cassidy - double-click driveragent_94 and then load this. Students will then need to read and study the on-line Audacity Tutorial to begin using the program.

Extra Credit(PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #1, #3, #5 and #6) Students will illustrate and write a children's book using the programs they have learned. Students may make an on-line "Pop Up Book" using ZooBurst. Go to the link, click sign up and type in your name and school e-mail address. You may draw pictures in PhotoShop and save them as .jpg's to upload and use on your books. View examples of my books Caroline and Ava or A Fun Day at School.

Extra credit(PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #1, #3, #5 and #6) Students will make a video using the Windows Movie Maker program. This movie will be about their book they have previously written and illustrated. You may use the same pictures on the video you used to build the book. Or, you may make a video about "A Day In Your Life" by following the instructions at this link.

Extra credit(PASS - Instructional Technology strd. #1, #3, #5 and #6) Students will work on yearbook pages, ads or pictures.

Students will be given a partner - Both will go to Dabble Board. One partner will send the other partner an invite to their Dabble Board - Each group will draw a diagram together - this diagram must be something from their Science class: examples, the planets, the heart, the digestive system, etc. - Each of you must save the diagram before the other person can see the information. When you are finished save it and "Share it with me at my e-mail address.
