Frederick High School Band members are preparing for the up-coming Pre-District and District Competitions.


Frederick Jr.High Basketball wins and places in Grandfield Tournament! - Excellence!
The Frederick Bombers won1st place in the boys bracket by winning 3 games in all beating the Temple Tigers, the Grandfield Bearcats and in the final game the Big Pasture Rangers 28 to 41. The Frederick Lady Bombers placed 2nd, beating the Temple Tigers, the Grandfield Bearcats, but losing to the Big Pasture Rangers in the final game.


Frederick High School Show Choir! - Excellence!
The Frederick High School Choir students were selected to performed in the Southwestern Oklahoma State Honor Show Choir.


Frederick High School Music Department receives donation from Eta Gamma! - Relationships!
Eta Gamma Sorority has donated $400 to the FPS Music Dept. for the purchase of a wireless microphone.The Music Department through Choir, Band, Musicals, and programs provide a well-rounded educational experience for all students in the entire school.The Music Dept. is also a tremendous supporter of numerous community events providing entertainment and community service activities. EG Sorority also supports the community and school and is happy to assist in providing funds to enable this dept. to maintain equipment for continued service.

Frederick Masonic Lodge member Bill Blankenship presents Kyle Davis Ag Booster President a check for $2,513.00 for the Masonic Lodge Chili Day they sponsored for the Ag Booster Club.


Frederick High School Oklahoma Youth Expo Finalist! - Excellence!
He will be interviewing on Thursday, January 7th at the Western Heritage Museum (Oklahoma Cowboy Hall of Fame) for the final award.  Only 30 senior students from Oklahoma are granted this opportunity.  Students are evaluated on: academics, community involvement, and junior agriculture program participation for the scholarship awards.

The Frederick Community supported the Chili Day event. FFA members volunteered to help serve the chili. 4-H members volunteered to help serve the chili. The Masonic Lodge and the Frederick Ag Boosters sponsored the event.


Frederick High School Girls Basketball win at Geronimo! - Sportsmanship!
The Frederick High School Girls Basketball team won the Consolation Championship of the Geronimo Tournament on Saturday, December 12th, beating the Davidson Sandies.


Frederick 9th Grade Boys Basketball win at Carnegie! - Sportsmanship!
The Frederick High School 9th Grade Boys Basketball team won the Consolation Championship of the Carnegie 9th Grade Tournament on Saturday, December 5th, beating the Fort Cobb- Broxton Mustangs 63-40.


Frederick High School FFA Benefit Bean Supper - Integrity!
Frederick FFA Chapter is sponsoring a Benefit Bean Supper for their fellow member and classmate, who was hurt in an accident last week.  The supper will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Prather Brown Cafeteria, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Pinto Beans, cornbread, and homemade desserts will be served for a $6 donation to help the family with medical expenses.


Frederick High School Band Indian Taco Dinner! - Cooperation!
FHS Bomber Band is having an Indian Taco Fund Raiser, Sat., Jan. 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Prather Brown Cafeteria.  Tickets cost $7.00 each and may be purchased from any of the FHS Band members.  Fund raiser dollars are used to pay for entry fees, transportation, uniforms, instrument maintenance and many miscellaneous costs associated with the Frederick High School Band and its many performances, competitions and activities. So, support the FHS Band and purchase a ticket for an Indian Taco.


Frederick Elementary School Learn about Nutrition! - Innovation!
The OSU Extension Office is having a 6 week education course with the 3rd grade students at Frederick Elementary.  Mrs. Leslie Choate will be teaching students Nutrition lessons and helping them to learn to make good choices when eating.  She will also be talking about exercise and how students should incorporate exercise into their schedule daily.

Frederick High School hosted a Veterans Day Ceremony! - Integrity! Former Speaker of the House Loyd Benson introduced Gen. Tommy Franks(Ret.) at the FHS Veteran's Day Ceremony at FHS. General Tommy Franks (Ret.) Gen. Franks received a FHS Bomber letter-jacket from FHS Student Council President. The FHS Band performed during the ceremony. The FHS Choir performed during the ceremony.

Frederick Bomber receives a Get Well card from Bridgecreek! - Sportsmanship!
This Frederick Bomber was hurt during the Bridgecreek football game and was not able to play the rest of the football season.  He received a Get Well card from a Bridgecreek cheerleader representing the Bridgecreek school.

This Frederick Bomber FFA member received the Top Sales award for the Fall FFA Sausage Sale.  She received a plaque, a pair of Justin boots, and $100.

Frederick High FFA members attend the National Convention! - Leadership!
Several of the Frederick FFA Chapter members attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Members raised funds for the trip from the annual FFA Fish Fry, donations from the Masonic Lodge and the profits from the Blue & Gold sales each year. Members attended the Convention, the American FFA Degree Awards ceremony, a Career Show, toured the King Tut traveling exhibition, went to the Toby Keith Concert, and many other FFA sponsored events.

Ag Preference donated $2,000 this school year to help out local chapters with their projects. With the help from Ag Preference, Frederick Ag students received a new plasma cutting torch, welding trailer, and hand tools for their projects. A special thanks to Ag Preference staff and board members for making this grant possible.

Week 1 - Lady Bomber senior pitcher has been named this week's Subway Player of the Week. Batting .307 with seven hits, including two doubles, to go along with five runs, and 5 RBI.Earned two wins and a save while striking out 21 batters in 16 innings of varsity action.The Lady Bombers would like to thank Subway and Jim Ard for sponsoring the Player of the Week. Week 2 - Lady Bomber sophomore shortstop has been named this week's Subway Player of the Week.  Batting .333 with six hits, including two doubles, to go along with two runs, and three RBI helping the Lady Bombers to a 3-3 record on the week against some stiff competition.The Lady Bombers would like to thank Subway and Jim Ard for sponsoring the Player of the Week. Frederick High School Student Council hosted a speaker for the first assembly for the year! - Integrity!
Tim Horton, MOS-034 Mortarman, U.S. Marine Corps, spoke to the FHS students during the opening assembly on Aug. 13th.He was injured in Ar Ramadi, Iraq on February 5, 2005, during Conflict: Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was Medically retired June 29, 2006. receiving the following Military Awards during his service;Purple Heart,Combat Action Ribbon,Sea Service Deployment Ribbon,Global War on Terrorism Service Medal,Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,the National Defense Service Medal.

The next National ACT test date in April 10, 2010. The last day to register for that test without paying a late fee is March 5, 2010. Cost of taking the ACT is $32.00 without writing and $47 with writing.

You, your senior class members, and parents are invited to attend NEO A&M College Senior Day on Thursday, February 11th.

Senior Day will begin with registration in the Student Activity Center Lobby at 9:30 a.m. Participants will rotate through three stations; Activity and Scholarship Fair, Academic Break-Out Session, and College 101. Representatives from all academic majors and programs, Admissions, Scholarships, and Housing will be available to visit with students about their college and career plans. Lunch will be provided with drawings for door prizes and additional time to meet with department and athletic representatives at 12:00. Optional campus tours will be available from 12:15-2:00.

The Distinct Advantage Scholarship is made available to any male graduating high school senior who will be attending Oklahoma State University and is interested in joining a fraternity. The Distinct Advantage Scholarship is worth $1000 and is sponsored by Alpha Tau Omega and administered by the ATO Foundation. Deadline for submitting applications for this scholarship is April 1, 2010.

Reminder to 2009 FHS graduates: The application for the Lorene Wessel Scholarship is available in the Frederick High School office. The scholarship will permit any 2009 graduate of Frederick High School, who is a full-time student, completes 12 hours of course work during their first semester of their collegiate career, obtains a 2.0 GPA, and is enrolled as a full-time student for the second semester, to be entitled to a $500 scholarship from the Foundation's Wessel Endowment for the second semester.

Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, Inc. is pleased to announce its 11th Annual Citizenship Essay Contest offering $12,000 in tuition scholarships to five Oklahoma college-bound high school seniors. Deadline is Feb. 8, 2010. At www.ocpathink.org you will find more information about the contest, information about online submissions, as well as details from matching colleges and universities. ACT Deadline Nov. 6th
November 6 is the deadline to register to take the December 12 ACT without paying a late fee. Cost of taking the exam is $32.00. Students may register online at www.actstudent.org or pick up a packet in Mrs. Hester's office. This will be the last ACT seniors can take and get ACT results back prior to scholarship deadlines.

Senior Announcement Orders
Josten's will be at Frederick High School Oct. 12th to hand out order packets for graduation announcements. Seniors will bring the packets home to be filled out once you have determine how many announcements and other senior items that you would like to purchase. Oct. 14th Josten's will return to Frederick High School at 9:15 to take orders in the gym. If you need to set up a payment plan, Josten Staff members will be available at that time to help you. Sophomore Class Rings
Sophomore Parents: Jostens will be here Monday, Oct. 12th at 10:00 to present a powerpoint to the class about ordering class rings. They will hand out order packets at this time. Jostens will return Oct. 14th at 9:30 in the gym lobby to take orders. If you need to set up a payment plan, please come by and visit with the Josten staff. Any Sophomore, Jr. or Sr. can order at this time. Any questions contact the high school.

Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Delegate
One outstanding sophomore will be selected as the 2010 Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Delegate from Frederick High School. The student selected will attend a 3 day seminar during June. All sophomores are eligible to apply. The only expense incurred by the student is travel to and from the seminar. The application form can be picked up in Mrs. Hester's office. Students are required to write a 100 or less essay. The deadline to return the application is Friday, September 25, 2009.
